Gridview rowupdating get old value

The problem is, I’d very much like to do so, if ASP. But I can’t set a Data Source property or anything on the Sql Data Source!!! I probably have to read the cells on the Grid View of the selected row, find the controls, get the values from those and insert those into my Data Set.Which means I won’t make my 70% code reduction Microsoft has always promised me. Now, when an user edit a row then click update, I'm having problem getting the new values in gridview's rowupdating event, it always returns the old values.

But I am not getting I am using c# Please help me Hi vmk, Could you be a littlemore elaborate? Thanks in advance for any help or direction you ca...

Check out what I’m trying to do, maybe you can help?

First, I load up some data: After that, I’m doing some work to make my Grid View look beautifull, adding all columns by hand.

I am using the Update feature of the SQLData Source to update a SQL Server database with values entered into the gridview. I believe this is due to the controls that contain the user entries are not the gridview itself, but rather child controls within the gridview.

I have been using the names of the actual controls but nothing happens.
